Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Belle Chase, Louisiana
We are looking for a Staff Accountant for our client who designs and manufactures marine and offshore cranes for the oil and gas commercial industries. They also have a temporary crane division as well as service cranes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records by entering data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and vendor accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Support the finance team in various administrative tasks, such as filing documents, responding to inquiries, and coordinating meetings.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and streamline accounting procedures.
- Adhere to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required.
- 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role is desirable.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
