After completing several sales courses during my college years, I sought a position that would allow me to apply and hone those acquired skills. My search led me to an opportunity advertised as VC5 on the UT Career Web page.

I was getting the hang of the recruiting process, making phone calls, and learning the ins and outs of the technology industry.

VC5 played a pivotal role in my development and personal growth over the years. Through hands-on experience, on-the-job training, and valuable mentorship from leadership and peers, it provided me with profound insights into the workings of the business world. Moreover, the company environment fostered a culture of learning through trial and error, granting me the freedom to make mistakes and learn essential lessons from them.

In the early days, when our team was considerably smaller, there was an undeniable sense of camaraderie and shared ambition as we collectively worked towards building and expanding the company. Instead of traditional classroom-style instruction, the training I received was more hands-on and immersive. I learned by observing seasoned veterans in action, absorbing their techniques, and then diving headfirst into replicating their successes.

It was truly an organic evolution. With the company’s expansion and onboarding of new team members, I found myself in a position to impart my knowledge and expertise, thereby contributing to the company’s continued growth. I am grateful to Whitney and Phil for entrusting me with opportunities to engage in strategic planning sessions, where my insights were not only welcomed but also valued.
