Position: IT Business Analyst – Production Accounting 
Location: Houston, TX – Onsite

Job description/Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in production accounting to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to the Accounting user community, demonstrating both functional and technical expertise in production accounting applications. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, managing projects, and translating business requirements into effective technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Support and Collaboration:

   • Provide direct support to the Accounting department, addressing issues, and offering solutions.
   • Collaborate with user department personnel to identify problems, gather business requirements, and document processes.

2. Project Management:

   • Assist in the management of projects related to production accounting with support from the Manager, Applications or Lead Systems Analyst.
   • Work closely with the Lead Programmer Analyst and/or Manager, Applications to ensure project success.

3. Requirements Gathering and Documentation:

   • Under the direction of the Manager of Applications, gather business requirements from the Accounting department.
   • Document processes and translate them into comprehensive business solution design documents for the technical team.

Qualifications:

• Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience.

• Production Accounting Expertise:

  • 3-5 years of upstream oil and gas experience with a focus on Oil and Gas Accounting.

• Application Knowledge:

  • 3 plus years of experience with P2 Energy Solutions Excalibur, including knowledge and support expertise.

• Analytical Skills:

  • Deep understanding and passion for business and data analysis.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL queries, views, stored procedures, coding methods for Access Databases, and Excel Macros.

• Project Management:

  • Ability to handle multiple job assignments of medium to large scope.
  • Experience leading and managing small to mid-size projects or other IT initiatives.

• Communication Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with managers, corporate, and region personnel.

• Change Management:

  • Proven ability as a change agent and a driver of change management.

• Teamwork and Learning:

  • Strong desire for teamwork and continuous learning.
