Job Description: Business Architect
Location: Houston, TX – fulltime – hybrid

We are seeking a seasoned Business Architect with a strong operational background and exceptional communication skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have grown through the ranks, starting as a developer and progressing to leadership roles with a focus on operational excellence. As a Business Architect, you will serve as a key liaison between our business and IT teams, ensuring that our technology initiatives are aligned with our strategic objectives.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Utilize your operational expertise to optimize our business processes and workflows. Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that drive operational excellence.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a statesman within the organization, effectively engaging with C-suite executives and stakeholders at all levels. Develop strong relationships and leverage your influence to align technology initiatives with business priorities.

  • Solution Articulation: Navigate through ambiguous situations where stakeholders may not have a clear understanding of their requirements. Employ your ability to articulate complex concepts and language in a way that resonates with diverse stakeholders, guiding them towards effective solutions.

  • Business Process Modeling: Demonstrate proficiency in modeling business processes, understanding the intricacies of different operational environments, particularly within the midstream vertical. Translate business requirements into actionable plans that drive tangible outcomes.

  • Strategic Consultation: Provide strategic consultation to business and IT leaders, offering insights rooted in your deep understanding of both the business and technical aspects of our organization. Ensure that recommendations are pragmatic and aligned with our long-term objectives.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Operational Expertise: Extensive experience in operational roles, with a track record of driving process improvements and delivering measurable results. Previous experience as a developer and upward progression through operational leadership roles is highly desirable.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, from C-suite executives to frontline employees. Exceptional communication and influencing skills are essential.

  • Business Process Modeling: Strong proficiency in modeling business processes and workflows. Ability to analyze backend operations and understand the nuances of different operational environments, particularly within the midstream industry.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in dynamic environments where requirements may evolve rapidly. Ability to adapt quickly and pivot strategies as needed to address changing business needs.
