Key Responsibilities
- Laying out, fitting, and assembling structural materials (angle iron, I-beams, steel plate) to create large frameworks and equipment housings.
- Performing precise fit-ups and coping on large structural components, specifically I-beams, in preparation for the final welding process.
- Maintaining a safe and efficient work area, including the proper use and repair of all shop equipment, cranes, and hand tools.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a structural fitter or fabricator.
- Proven, hands-on experience fabricating and fitting large skid units within a manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional ability to interpret and work directly from complex blueprints and technical drawings to execute precise fit-ups.
- Demonstrated ability to perform I-beam coping and work with very large structural beams.
- Strong knowledge of shop mathematics, problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety protocols.
