Location: Houston, Texas
We provide insights on cash management, capital structure, capital allocation, and other strategic initiatives to senior management. There is a high degree of visibility in this department. We also serve in an advisory role for our internal strategy formation process. The Strategic Finance Senior Financial Analyst expands and promotes existing Cash Management, Trust Fund Income, Corporate Finance, and Capital Structure processes from data analytics perspectives. The role is a crucial part of this department, taking on the core analytical work on assigned topics and serving as a liaison to other departments from which this group needs assistance.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Finance (70%)

Prepare and maintain scheduled and ad-hoc reports related to cash management and trust fund performance

Generate periodic reports and slide decks providing updates on capital deployment metrics, leverage ratio analysis, share buyback recommendations, etc.

Work with the Strategic Finance Manager to analyze the company’s $11.9B backlog (trust investments and off-balance sheet insurance assets) and establish new ways to monitor and manage it

Prepare monthly budget analysis for Corporate Treasurer’s area of responsibility.

Improve cash and banking transaction analytics from the Treasury Workstation
Data Mining & Analytics (30%)

Query and analyze data using Power Query and SQL to improve business insights needed for strategic recommendations to senior management team

Build, develop, and maintain data models, visualizations, and dashboards using multiple data sources to optimize decision-making process

Work with other finance and business intelligence departments to understand the business logic required to make sense of and explain the data

Explore ways to use data and automation to improve existing processes and provide additional insight to management
Analytical Services (10%)

Help support Strategic Finance Manager who serves as a liaison to other finance/accounting departments which need support from Strategic Finance Department

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field
Experience:
-
Five (5) years of advanced financial analytics and modeling experience is required

Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and Power Query is preferred
-
Experience working with Oracle or other accounting ERP is preferred
-
CPA Certification is preferred
