Senior Database Administrator
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team in Houston, TX. You will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance, security, and scalability of our critical database infrastructure.
Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain a diverse database environment including MySQL 2022, NoSQL databases, and specifically RavenDB.

Perform daily database administration tasks such as backups, recovery, performance optimization, and user access control.

Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard sensitive data.

Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Design and implement database solutions to support new business initiatives.

Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand data needs and design efficient database models.

Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends.

Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Document database systems, procedures, and configurations.

Work on-call rotation and address database issues outside regular business hours as needed.
Qualifications:

7-8 years of experience as a Database Administrator.

Strong understanding of relational database management principles (MySQL).

Proficiency in NoSQL databases, with a focus on RavenDB administration.

Experience with SQL querying languages (MySQL).

Working knowledge of database security best practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

This is an on-site position located in Houston, TX.

Working hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, with a requirement to work weekends and overtime on occasion.
